WE GOT THE POWER TRAINING PROGRAM
Our We Got the Power Training Program is a transformative development experience that equips Black organizers, changemakers, and community leaders with real-world strategies, skills, and resources to drive lasting change. Designed to close the gap in base-building, organizing, and campaign development in Black communities, we provide year-round training opportunities, hands-on learning, and a network of movement leaders to strengthen the future of Black civic and political power—one organizer at a time.
THE FUNDAMENTALS OF BLACK ORGANIZING: JULY 27-31, 2026 | CHICAGO, IL
The Fundamentals of Black Organizing is a one-week, immersive training that equips Black organizers with the core skills to build, grow, and maintain a strong, dedicated base. This experience centers three essentials: how to hold transformative 1:1 conversations, the fundamentals of organizing Black communities, and developing leaders who can move people to action.
During the training, you’ll learn how to:
- Lead transformative 1:1 conversations that build trust, uncover motivation, and move people into deeper commitment
- Ground your work in core organizing fundamentals such as understanding power, building relationships, and strengthening your base
- Train and develop leaders who can activate others and sustain momentum beyond a single moment
- Turn engagement into action by mobilizing your base through clear strategy and collective purpose
In partnership with The Management Center, you’ll also gain practical tools to strengthen and refine how you manage and lead teams—building skills in project management, giving and receiving feedback, and creating healthy, accountable work environments that support your organizing.
Through real practice, reflection, and hands-on application, you’ll leave with the skills and clarity to not just organize—but to build power and move Black people forward.
